Digital Silent Auction FAQs:
Q: What of my guest does not pre-register prior to Blush Ball and they want to bid on an item at the event? A: They will need to register at the event with a Pussyfooter/volunteer. If your guest does not have a smart phone to register and bid, a helper may help them bid with an iPad at the auction table, but your guest will have to monitor bids on the screens located around the venue. A volunteer will help for each bid during the night of the event. NOTE: Pre-Registration for the Auction means both guests and volunteers are free to dance, bid, and enjoy the party. This is a HUGE time-saver for everyone!
Q: How do I find items for auction? A: You can find items by pressing any of one of the buttons on the main menu, or by using the search bar to find a specific item or category.
Q: How do I bid on an item? A: You can bid from anywhere any time! Find the item that you are interested in and press BID. You’ll be prompted to enter your bid amount and submit your bid. If you are outbid, you will get a text alert notifying you that you have been outbid. You can make a NEW BID directly from your phone via text.
Q: What if I miss the alerts about the auction item because I’m having too much fun? A: The auction works similarly to bidding on eBay. BidPal Mobile can automatically bid for you. Once you have submitted a bid, you will be prompted to enter a maximum, MAX Bid. Upon doing so, BidPal Mobile Bidding will automatically bid on your behalf, by increment, whenever you are outbid, up to your maximum bid amount.
Q: How can I watch the items that I am bidding on? A: The auction will be on the monitors located throughout the venue. The items will be shown with current winning bids. You can also find all of your auctions in the My Items section bey clicking on the person icon in the upper right-hand corner of your mobile device.
Q: How will I know if I won an item? A: When the auction has closed at Blush Ball, you will receive a text stating that you have won. Your credit card on file will be charged and you may show a volunteer your PAID zero balance to pick up your item that you won before 11:30 pm. Congratulations!
Need help at the event? If you should need assistance please look for a Pussyfooter/volunteer or a member of the event management team wearing a OneCause lanyard.

Did you know in addition to Breast Cancer awareness, October is also
Domestic Violence Awareness month as well? Blush Ball is a “Party with a
Purpose” and we would like to talk about the purpose for a moment.
A portion of the proceeds from Blush Ball goes to Metro Centers for Community Advocacy (Metro). They provide so many vital programs and services to our community.
Metro’s Director, Darlene Santana, outlines how important Blush Ball is to their mission:
On behalf of our Board of Directors and Staff, I want to express our
deepest appreciation to the Pussyfooters for the generosity and support
provided to Metro over the years. The proceeds donated to Metro from
Blush Ball have been and are still used today to support free and
confidential services provided to our survivors staying in our
Emergency Shelter. Donations from our community, such as Blush Ball,
are used to fund the services that are not covered by grant funds.
Grants are awarded for very specific purposes. Therefore, there are
many needs that are not covered by grants. The following are needs
that are funded through Blush Ball donations:
Food (breakfast/lunch/dinner) for Emergency Shelter
Small kitchen appliances for food preparation for Emergency Shelter (microwave, electric skillet, crock pot, rice cooker, etc…)
Dishes, utensils for Emergency Shelter
Formula and Diapers for Emergency Shelter
Bedding – pillows, sheets, pillow cases, blankets for Emergency Shelter
Transportation for Emergency Shelter clients – bus ticket if needed to transport clients to another state – local transportation (Uber/bus tokens) to doctor’s appointments, job interview, bring child to school
Medication/Prescriptions and over the counter medication for clients in Emergency Shelter
Clothing for clients in Emergency Shelter
Paper Products – toilet paper, hand towel paper for Emergency Shelter
My accountant and I went back as far as our records would go to get a figure on how much money has been donated to Metro over the years. Our accountant had records back to 2011. The figure he has on the total amount of donations from Blush Ball to Metro is $169,170.00.
